About Roger

Roger Lam is a children's book author who cooks up stories with equal parts humor and heart to celebrate family, identity, and imagination.

His first picture book The Dragon Who Couldn’t Breathe Fire will be published by Puffin UK in August 2026, followed by Napping Baba published by Crown Children’s in Spring 2027.

Roger has also juggled other joyful projects and careers, such as co-founding a children’s literacy nonprofit, leading tours in Chinatown, teaching creative writing, performing stories on The Moth stage, and building education-tech products for all ages.

Roger lives in New York City with his partner, Jade, and a wok named Walter.

He is represented by Tasneem Motala at Belcastro Agency.
